  1. Last 7 days Yankees hitting an astonishing 165/237/265. That’s 26 points lower than the next to last team in BA and 39 points in OPS.

But Rowson and Boone have nothing to do with it.

  2. That’s exactly what Pete was talking about, the ability to foul off tough pitches with two strikes till you get something to crush, instead of just looking at a borderline strike 3.

  3. Here’s the thing that I don’t get it (and I get that I’m saying this right after a Rice homer and a Garcia single, but still). Their whole deal is elevate the ball and launch angle and shit like that. Okay, fair enough, but then why the fuck do they constantly ground out so much then?!

  4. Ooph, Spencer. He’s not exactly making this hard for the Yankees in terms of roster moves for Belli’s return. And I really don’t want Ramos playing everyday, but it looks like we’re headed that direction.

  5. Jones looked so good when he came up.
And he held it for a while.
Now he looks like a member of the ML squad.
Send him down before he forgets how to hit FOREVER.

    1. He’s not even hitting home runs. Could live with high strikeouts and low BA if he hit home runs.

  6. Not quite sure what the plan is here if Cruz is coming in here now (and Cruz SHOULD be in here now).

If he doesn’t blow the game, presumably he finishes this inning, then starts the seventh. Maybe gets two (HIGHLY THEORETICAL) outs in the seventh, and then turn to Blackburn for four outs?

I, of course, mean the theoretical plan, as things obviously won’t go according to plan.

    1. You CANNOT bring Headrick into this game, Boone! Let the poor guy rest! Use Yarbs! If the Yankees somehow score, then fine, you can use Headrick. If not, you cannot bring him in!

  7. Cruz still sucks but I guess Boone had to use him. He got away with one last night. Warren only going 4 after Rodon’s rehab shortened outing yesterday didn’t help.

    1. Yeah, Boone had to use him. This is definitely all on Warren sucking. Well, and the Yankees offense letting Bassitt off of the hook, as well, of course.

  8. Seriously, EVERYBODY on the Yankees should have outside hitting coaching. I mean, you look at Judge, and you look at everyone else, how could you NOT?
In fairness, my recollection is that Judge also strikes out looking way, way too much.

  9. Michael, what the hell does that mean? They DID take advantage of what was clearly a break. They got out of that inning without giving up a run!

  10. Fuck Boone. Whoever you blame: no, they’re the best!
So it’s nobody’s fault, they’re actually leading the league in hitting.
    Screw Boone.

    1. They do a GREAT job, they just get awful results.
Can we get someone who does a wretched job and gets great results?

  11. Boone’s the expert on whether the coaches are doing a good job. Blake gets plenty of credit. Boone insists there are good players in the lineup. And we can see everyone is underperforming. Yet Rowson gets no blame. Either the players suck or the coaches are not doing their job.

    1. What was Garcia swinging at?! It was at his fucking head! And why are you trying to steal bases with Grisham, when he’s slow as fuck?!

To be fair, Ramos would not get a hit, so it didn’t change much.

    2. Sonned?

      From the urban dictionary:

      1. to be completely and utterly defeated or destroyed by another individual with extreme prejudice
      2. to be owned, or served in utter humiliation or submission

It basically means that you treat someone like they’re a little kid and you’re their “dad.” You know, sort of like Pedro’s “Who’s your daddy?”
