It’s pretty sad that Will Warren’s stat line is not all that different from what I expect from Nestor tonight.
Going to be tricky to get this one in.
Stroman and Cortes (8.68era last 28 days) with Warren on the side doesn’t make for a pennant.
What is the 3rd base ump looking at?
Stanton 182/490 since returning
He’s as cold as ice.
That one carried thru the wind.
A home run and 3 doubles allowed. The Nestor magic is gone.
More Yankees lethargy.
Chasing’ Volpe
This game isn’t as close as the score. The Halos look like the first place team.
When will Judge get #300? This weekend? Next week? Next month? Next season? They aren’t going to really pitch to him without any protection behind him. Next thing we’ll see is a bases loaded IBB, shades of Buck Showalter and Barry Bonds.
Gil and Nestor throwing tons of pitches against that line up of the Angels. Blake’s Magic at work.
A similarity in performance but a bigger difference.
Gil got lucky, or we’re looking at being swept by a mediocre Angels team.
Cortes with two strikes is an effing tragedy. With Stroman and Cortes in the rotation this team ain’t winning no pennant.
Losing 2 of 3 to the Angels, the CashBoone Yankees strutting their stuff.
That was catchable but I don’t think a whole lot of Cashman’s other big pickup. That ball was hit hard and like Cortes two strikes worked in favor of the Halos.
Nestor has been a disaster on the road. I thought this was a home game?
His last home game he gave up 6 runs in 4.1ip. He’s been a disaster for a while. Not quite as bad as Stroman but a disaster nevertheless.
Yankees, 8 runs in 22 innings against the Angels so far this series, with 5 of those 8 runs in the first four innings of game one. So 3 runs since.
And they’ve given up 16 runs in the last 15 inning. Quite the parlay.
De Los Santos had one good season and one ok season in his career. This year his FIP for the Padres was 5.37. When the Yankees look like shit they really look like shit.
Shoulda rained this one out.
Yankees pitching, where bad line-ups go to get well. Blake’s Magic.
Katie Sharp Nestor Cortes has allowed 24 runs over his last 5 games (since July 11).
That’s the most runs allowed by any pitcher since July 11.
Not so nasty
Giving new meaning to nasty.
Anthony Volpe left tonight’s game with left foot pain after fouling a ball off his foot in the second inning. He is currently being examined by Yankees Head Team Physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad.
The Bosox are happy, Yankees and O’s both lose.
They have the momentum.
Man, the Orioles and the Yankees just won’t let the other team outdo each other in losing to shitty teams.
Chad Green almost fucked the Yankees over tonight, though.
Boone’s “very confident” in the rotation.
I’m very confident that two/fifths of the rotation will suck each turn through the rotation.
Hopefully Schmidt will return somewhat soon.
Middle of September seems mildly optimistic.
Tonight’s Yankees-Rangers game (Friday, August 9) has been rescheduled due to the forecast of sustained inclement weather and will be made up tomorrow, Saturday, August 10, as the second game of a single-admission doubleheader, which will begin with the first game at 1:05pm. More information will be provided shortly.
Cashman’s always bettering the team. On Thursday, the Yankees acquired OF Cam Eden from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for cash considerations.
A good pinch-running option for the playoffs isn’t a BAD addition.
So is the plan for Gomez to start the other game of the DH?
He pitched a good inning once.
Of the Minor League starters, he’s got to be the best option, right?
They can also go with Warren on his regular rest.
Hal is feeling very generous, twice in a couple of days going with single admission doubleheaders.
Martian 0/4 with 3 Ks struggling since his return 214/567 in July, 167/389 in August. What the hell is wrong?
Tough injury for a hitter, takes time.
Baltimore wins, Boston loses despite Caleb giving them a shot.
It’s kind of weird to see Boston fans calling the Astros cheaters when Alex Cora is their manager.
