  1. You guys see this shit about the nightclub collapse in the Dominican? 28 dead including Octavio Dotel and Nelson Cruz’s sister

  2. I don’t understand sitting Jasson against Mize but playing him against Skubal unless Bellinger was hurt. I just don’t think it’s good for his confidence to let him hit against one of the toughest LHPs in baseball.

    1. It is what Boone does. No one can fathom what he does and don’t even try as it will make you insane.

Belli had food poisoning. But yes, agreed.

  3. i haven’t been watching the games because i’m traveling for work but a couple of days ago there was chatter here about Judge getting beaten up. well, he hasn’t done anything since. not saying this is a rizzo situation but my first thought was to get him some rest. boone’s logic seems to be play them when they’re injured and rest them when they’re healthy. why are we running out our guy though in the snow banged up, seriously.

    1. That really does seem to be what Boone does.
Yet another thing that Boone does.
It is (like the other things) very, very odd.

I mean, he hit a home run the game that he got beat up in. But yes, my concern at the time was that Judge would show the signs in the days after, and I guess you could argue that that is what’s going on, but he’s still hitting the ball, just not for homers. So I’m actually not too concerned.

    3. On the one hand, you often don’t feel it on the day it happens. Guys play out the game and then it turns out they had a broken arm and a dislocated shoulder.
On the other hand, it just didn’t look like anything when it happened, and it probably isn’t anything.

knuckle curve’s still right, though – that is what Boone does.

  4. Fried is great.
    Schmidt should be fine.
    Rodon you’re stuck with.

The last two spots, though, are interesting. Obviously, Gil will eventually return, and he gets one of the spots, but what do you do with the fifth spot if Stroman continues to suck?

Should they DFA Carrasco when Schmidt resigns, or option Warren? I don’t think it is an easy call.

    1. If it’s a toss-up, wouldn’t playing Warren win because of the possibility of at least developing new talent, either for use or for trade?

    2. If it’s a toss-up, wouldn’t playing Warren win because of the possibility of at least developing new talent, either for use or for trade?

If it’s truly a toss-up, then you can keep Carrasco, and have Warren to call up later, while if you pick Warren, you lose Carrasco.

Now, I tend to think it ISN’T a toss-up, so I’d go with Warren, who I think is demonstrably better than Cookie (PLUS with room to grow).
