It’ll be interesting to see how Warren handles the Reds. Some of their guys are a bit hot. They couldn’t handle Schlittler, but can they handle Warren and his millions of pitches per inning?
What a sorry ass lineup.
Wells to return tomorrow.
Who do you think he replaces? I think Escarra has shown enough to keep his spot, but Sanchez has been good, too.
Goldy truly has a case for an All Star spot.
PGold ends his slump vs LHPs
If Belli doesn’t make it from fan voting, does Belli make the All Star team?
Goldy probably DOESN’T make it either way (too many good first basemen, especially with Vladdy likely making it from the fan vote).
Once again, if they haven’t shown that they can hit your fastball, why are you throwing them breaking pitches?!
Goldschmidt is corking his bat
Unless Stanton returns at the top of his game, which is VERY unlikely, they’re better off without him.
I think they should just wait until he shows he can play right field. This team is better with Stanton’s bat if he can play right field.
If he doesn’t get to that point, then yes, he’s probably not a plus for this team with the way Goldy is hitting.
The Yankees leading the American League in stolen bases and leading the Majors in home runs IS pretty fucking cool.
The Cabby roller coaster experience.
What a weird challenge by Sanchez. It’s only a 1-0 count in the third inning, dude, even if you’re RIGHT.
Stealing third with two out seems pretty reckless when you get thrown out as much as Caballero does
It was worse than that. He wasn’t stealing, he just had WAY too big of a lead at second.
Dominguez’s instincts in the field are just awful.
Why would you throw it to third there? Like, what would even POSSIBLY be going through your head to do that?
Michael Kay just made the dumbest comment ever. As if he just doesn’t understand what happened.
EDITED TO ADD: He apologized for botching the call.
Who returns first, Judge or Stanton?
Jesus, Rice, that was a terrible play.
How is that error on VOLPE!?
They changed it, and correctly gave it to Rice now.
Everything was NOT done right there. Jazz should have hurried the throw with the speedy Dunn running.
Four unearned runs off of that Rice fuckup. Ugh.
Oh well, that’s it for this one.
looks like it’s time to pick myself off the couch. oh well.
Sure, an error, but you don’t have to give up a 3-run HR.
Exactly. And a double and a walk.
For a game they’re going to lose, they sure have gotten a LOT of guys on base. I think they’ve had a run in scoring position in every inning EXCEPT the one that they scored in.
They have now literally stranded a runner in scoring position in EVERY INNING except for the first inning, which is the ONLY inning they’ve scored in (I actually don’t know if getting picked off at second to end the inning counts as stranding a runner in scoring position, but I’m counting it).
0-9 RISP 7 LOB
Yar making sure it’s over.
He wants Blackburn to get that last spot.
Following today’s game, the Yankees optioned RHP Jake Bird and C J.C. Escarra to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Elmer Rodríguez will start tomorrow, Aaron Boone said. Inserting him into rotation to provide starters with extra rest. Gerrit Cole moves to Monday at Detroit.
Cole pushed back to Monday in Detroit, Elmer to start Sunday’s game in the Bronx. I imagine they can then give Cam an extra day as well.
Yeah, it makes sense to me, as well, to give them all a rest, and then you send Cruz down for Yovanny Cruz to help the bullpen (or do you let ERC pitch out of the bullpen?).
I feel bad for Escarra, he handled things well when Wells went down.
By the numbers Y Cruz hasn’t been great 3.46 era,1.27 WHIP, 12.6 k/9. Chivilli small sample only 8 games, 1.50 era, WHIP 0.75, 11.6 K/9, 3 years younger than Cruz.
Oh, Chivelli is healthy again? If so, sure, I’d be down with that, as well.
Schwarber with two 450+ foot HRs in the same inning.
Anthony Seigler leading off for Boston in Seattle tonight.
