Hopefully they score some runs for Schlittler this time out!
Grisham back to being incredibly unlucky.
Belli said, “Fuck you, BABIP “
Ballsy call by Rusillo to call that a homer right away.
Except they didn’t take advantage of “the extra out,” they took advantage of the right amount of outs (of not being gypped out of an out).
Man, they scored four, but that was with three at-em balls being outs!
Lots of line drives, Judge with a ground ball.
A hard hit ground ball, at least!
Why is this pitcher still in there?!
At what point do you bring McMahon in for defense? Rosario is a butcher at third.
WP–Skubal is represented by Boras. He will never sign before getting to FA.
Can’t disagree with that
WHY DO THEY LET JAZZ CHALLENGE – EVER?
Excellent question.
They figure it lowers his expected FA value so he accepts the QO?
Come to think of it, how would an expected year-long work stoppage affect contracts, including strategy around QO’s?
Falter is an unfortunate surname for a professional athlete.
Even more unfortunately, the name was his choice when he had it changed from Balk.
This pitcher is so bad. Usually when I tune in late it’s 0-0. He’s so bad phenom ent 400’ but not had enough for Wells to get a hit.
Nice of Perez to use the challenge to make the pitcher throw just one extra pitch to walk Judge, which he clearly was going to do anyway.
Ball four to Judge was an impressive pitch for the situation though.
I think the plan was legit to try to paint that exact corner and use Perez’s ABS challenges to steal strikes.
Judge runs the bases so poorly.
As do most of the team.
PYTHAG!!
Been a while since we’ve seen this many runs, the most since May 4 when they put up 12 vs. the O’s. They had scored 48 runs in their last 16 games.
It’s bittersweet to watch a perennial MVP candidate on another lackluster team, and to know that there’s not a snowball’s chance in Hades of his joining the Yankees, where he could play a position of significant need and maybe make the team a legit contender.
Trout was like that ten years ago. Witt is like that now.
It’s sort of a “the one that got away” feeling, though I’ve never really liked that phrase’s connotation of entitlement to romantic partnership. It should go without saying that every human deserves a full no-trade clause. (But apparently we needed a Constitutional amendment for that, and some folks still need reminders about it.)
Cam’s been striking out significantly fewer people the last… three starts, is it? True?
Noticed that last time out. Today just figure he’s pitching to contact with the big lead.
Rays lose.
If anything, today’s game is a pleasant reminder that this Yankees squad can hit AAA pitching, which I’m sure I couldn’t.
Bullpen proof?
Too bad Grisham had to have that sixth at-bat! Still got him over a .200 batting average and a .700 OPS.
Oooh a save for Yarbrough!
Can’t Rosario play left? Why not put him there and Caballero at 3B?
Also frankly if Rosario is gonna feast like this let him boot a few at the hot corner
Yeah, good call.
Katie S Yankees had 24 hard-hit batted balls (95+ mph exit velo) on Tuesday vs Royals.
That’s their most in any game in the Statcast era (since 2015).
After tonight’s game vs the Royals, Cam Schlittler has a 1.50 ERA.
That’s the 2nd-lowest ERA through 12 starts by any pitcher in Yankees history. The lowest is 1.46 by Ray Caldwell in 1914.
Katie S – Yankees: 24 hits is their most in a road game since August 31, 1974 at White Sox
From @MLB – All 9 Yankees starters collect 2+ hits for the first time in franchise history in a blowout victory!
