Carlos Lagrange can pretty clearly help the New York Yankees in 2026 out of the bullpen, like a Dellin Betances-level player.
However, Carlos Lagrange also looks like he could be an excellent starting pitcher. Remember, MIDWAY THROUGH LAST SEASON, Cam Schlittler was still considered BEHIND Lagrange in terms of Yankee starting prospects, and Schlittler has been a revelation as a starter.
Do you risk losing that from Lagrange by possibly stunting his development? And then you would have to worry about later stretching him. Is that a big deal? Or does the value from him possibly dominating out of the pen like a young Dellin Betances outweigh that concern?
What do you folks think?
