Heyman says that the plan is to get a righthanded outfielder, and keep Dominguez in the minors for the season, but, of course, if an injury happens, he’d be called up and become a starter.
I think it makes a lot of sense. A guy like Randal Grichuk likely has more of a place on this roster than Dominguez.

Then you can either get a righthanded first baseman like Goldy, and have Rice be the backup catcher, or you can have the backup catcher there.
When Volpe is back, then you just send Waldo to the minors.
