  1. Volpe started the season strong, and if memory serves, seems to come out of the gate after the ASB hot as well. Hell, the Grandma’s cooking hot streak was after a day off.

    How did this kid get a decree that he plays 160 games a year? If a day off or occasional rest does everyone else in the sport a service, how does nobody in the Bronx think that Volpe might benefit from an extra day off every two weeks? Shortstop is demanding.

    Peraza fields the position as well or better, and if Volpe isn’t hitting at all, Peraza won’t be worse for a day here and there.
