Logan Gilbert is going to handle the Yankees easily.
Schmidt has been really good. Look at that ERA!
I was going to remark on Torres leading off but he’s got the 4th-highest OBP of any regular, which, hahahaha
It’s earth’s gravity
The Martian wont be on the post season.
Trevi 2/29, phenom 4/41. And then he got a hit.
My O/U for last night and today combined for the Yankees was 7.5.
Fifty pitches in 2-innings. 🤦♂️
I bet you guys hate the Yankees now
So who’s going to GIDP, Trevino or Volpe?
At least Volpe can’t GIDP if he doesn’t hit the ball.
Excellent pitch recognition phenom

When he needed to be sent to AAA in May 2023, and they just kept playing him, they gave him a sign he is very good, and he drank deeply of that. Remember a few months ago, he [Volpe] was asked about changing his approach at the plate, and he blew it off by saying he’d wait until the off season. Arrogant little guy.
Stanton is just so bad. They really need to consider trying to buy him out or cut him. They can’t bring his corpse back for 2025. Three more years of this?
That can’t be good. Lose Cousins, more Holmes.
Great.
Ugh, not good to lose Cousins. Oh well, I guess that’s Poteet’s roster spot.
But yes, that likely gets Holmes back into the playoffs mix, which sucks.
So far, 1-11 with RISP.
Dan Wilson thinks the Yankees were playing games with Cousins’ “injury.” I doubt it, though.
Stanton seems to be up more than 1/9 of the time.
Why do you guys think Cousins is necessarily badly hurt?
So weird with the challenge. Why let them bother with a challenge if it changes nothing?
Usually they’re winning and in feels like they’re losing.
This time, it feels like they’re ahead, but they’re not, and it’s almost over.
Brilliant! A high leverage game where he can’t possibly blow the save!
Not even Holmes could pull of a blown save here.
…I think… ?
Boone Holmes just made one mistake yesterday. Nelson begs to differ, his slider was awful.
Pinch hitting for phenom? RADICAL!
PH for the Phenom.
Must be nice to have a reliever who can do that.
Ohtani now with 50 HRs with 2 today and 5-5 with 2 2b and 7 RBIs. Judge has just 2 HRs since August 25. Yeah, Judge may not lead MLB In HR after this historic power outage.
So, the Marlins seemed to be feeding Ohtani pitches and couldn’t care less about pitching around him.
Yeah, f’ing Marlins feeding Ohtani who is now 6-6 with 3HRs. Last guy a position player, Vidal Bujan. Of course, MLB has made Ohtani their god, so this is all good.
I don’t like it, but you can’t say Judge hasn’t had pitches to hit over this streak. It’s not like he’s being walked all the time, it’s not like he hasn’t struck out a good deal.
He’s just not hitting like he was.
He had a huge lull down the stretch in his 61 HR season, too.
Ohtani hasn’t had that lull. If he’s close to Judge – well, good for him, and who can we and Judge blame, other than Judge himself?
Judge was clearly the MVP of MLB three weeks ago.
It’s far harder to argue that now.
The Marlins pitchers were feeding Ohtani all game, then they allow a position player to pitch to him, you have the non-pitcher walk him if you aren’t trying to help him.
Cousins velo

Four runs, 9 hits in 19 innings won’t do it in the playoffs. This is a continuing problem, the occasional feast and then too much famine.
But wait, there’s more.
Hoch: Juan Soto said he slid directly into concrete and will have X-rays. Asked if he expects to play tomorrow at Oakland, he said it depends on how the knee feels in the morning.
Who cares. They made the playoffs. Hal has his money.
They need to win at least one game against Baltimore.
Must win the division. But this is one odd as hell team. They haven’t had a multi-game scoring stretch in how long? And now for 3+ weeks Judge has been consumed by that bad mojo the team has. He was the one constant and now, poof! HRs are almost as rare as hens teeth with him.
Mets 10, 10, and so far tonight 9, runs that is. Meanwhile, I had the Yankees O/U for the last 2 games combined at 7.5; they didn’t fail me.
Three straight games with 10 runs for the Mets. Wonder how that feels?
The Dodgers have 6 games left against the Rockies.
Ohtani 6/6 3 home runs 2 doubles 2 stolen bases
See above. The last one, they allowed a position player to pitch against him.
