From Bryan Hoch:
The Yankees howled with laughter in their pre-series hitters’ meeting on Friday afternoon, a pandemic-era TikTok filling their screens instead of opponents’ sliders and curveballs. They delighted in the visual of a bearded college-aged Austin Wells busting dance moves in an Arizona parking lot.
Wells expressed astonishment that the video had not been found sooner, instead being unearthed this week by a fan and now rapidly gaining reposts across the globe. Whether it’s prancing in the desert or enjoying his first multihomer game in the Bronx, Wells continues to show the Yankees all he can do, leading the club to a 6-3 victory over the Cardinals at Yankee Stadium.
And yet Boone insists that Jose Trevino will start all of the games that lefties start. I mean, come the fuck on, dude! Get Wells a glove, then he can play first base, and Rizzo can sit those days. I don’t even mind playing Trevino, but you can’t be taking Wells’ bat out of the lineup with any regularity!
The featured image is the 8th inning home run that the Cardinals catcher, Pages, hilariously was PISSED about. See him stomping the ground?
Stroman was decent. I guess they can’t send him to the bullpen now to avoid his player option for 2026 kicking in.
Sorry I missed the game thread. Something unexpected came up!
Why is the Major League season defined as a “Championship Season”? Why not just “Regular Season”?
I’ve never heard that. It sounds like a very recognizable kind of recent language move, something analogous to PC language..
It is just the regular season, of course.
Grisham day and Waldo playing 1B.
