Hopefully they get at least a win in this series!
Good Nestor inning #1
Been a long time Gleyber. Judge OTOH warning track power.
I was hoping for a lot more than that.
Nice AB Martian. A few tough takes.
I legit don’t think Verdugo has had an at-bat that good this season.
I’m no fan but I prefer him to Stanton.
I’ve heard people praising Rizzo since returning, he’s at 188/507 since coming back. That’s DJ bad . And even worse he has 2 doubles, both I think excuse me pop ups to left. When Rizzo’s good he’s pulling the ball with power and there no sign of that.
As for phenom he’s at a pathetic 231/469, worse than DJ, the last 2 weeks, 167/325 the last week!. What a disappointment he is.
DH, 1B and SS (sometimes LF) black holes.
I want pre August 26 Judge back.
This would be Judge’s longest home run drought if he doesn’t hit one tonight.
Why aren’t those going out? It looks like he hit them well… but not even close. There have been a few of those lately.
Leadoff home run and then the same PATHETIC SHIT against a mediocre right handed pitcher. Criswell/Lugo all the same. Not even a LHP. It almost doesn’t matter who starts lately.
Meredith “Aaron what were Taillon, Singer, Lugo, Ragans and Criswell doing?”
I had forgotten that there is a way Rizzo can still help this team.
How bad does phenom have to be that Waldo is super glued to the bench?
Two outs or more I’d rather see DJ than phenom or Rizzo.
Two outs or more?
That’s so on the offense.
I don’t think they’re all so untalented, it’s got to be the approach. It’s got to be on Boone and Rowson. Mostly Boone.
Their approach is to have no approach, rather, flail away.
Yep.
20 pitches in the 1st and 20 in the second and then bases loaded at some point after that, how is this guy only in the 70s on the pitch count?!
That’s was the lock of the year.
FFS. Another Judge DP.
I didn’t have time to type my prediction.
That was kind of unfair. Judge scorched that ball. Nice play.
Judge has choked this MVP away hilariously.
It has been an ugly 18 days since August 25 and the 2 HR’s.
Boone’s teams are always fundamentally unsound.
Jeez, Jazz, WTF?
As bad as it gets. What was he thinking?
Volpe, bases loaded. FAIL.
Couldn’t possibly pinch hit Waldo or Verdugo because Tony is the phenom.
This is the best lineup they have to offer. If they can’t score relatively consistently with this lineup, I mean maybe they just have to break it up and start from scratch. I mean, this is nuts.
The lineup would be stronger with Verdugo and Waldo instead of Stanton and phenom.
Waldo hitting left handed is OPSing 725 which is considerably better than phenom, yet Boone will never consider giving him more PT.
Boston’s bullpen era since ASB ~6.5. See KC’s terrible pen Tuesday and Wednesday also.
Meredith “Aaron what were Assad, Taillon, Singer, Lugo, Ragans and Criswell doing?” Or do the Yankees simply stink at hitting?
As long as they’re sticking to the process, I’m fine with the results.
And if Stanton’s hitting (2/30), you’re in good shape.
Boston bullpen 6.5 ERA since the ASB.
This is a much different bullpen, though, since they have Martin and Slaten back. It’s like apples and oranges.
As bad as the offense has been, I didn’t think they’d be “Couldn’t get to Kenley Jansen in a pressure situation” bad.
Rizzo and Volpe is waving the white flag. The good news is Holmes can’t get a blown save. The bad news is Holmes will get the loss.
Never thought I’d miss DJ. Rice can’t hit but at least he can run into one. Rizzo is now a 200 hitter with no power.
It is HILARIOUS that they might actually use Holmes here.
Just unreal how awful they look against bad relievers.
They’re seriously going to Holmes. This is so crazy stupid.
Credit to Holmes for coming through.
Better him than Leiter or Mayza.
WTF?!?
Twins cut minor league catcher Derek Bender for tipping pitches.

It wouldn’t help Yankees hitters.
Soto! Yay, win.
Yay, Soto!
Yay win. Yay pitching. Boo hitting especially Rizzo and phenom
Two in a row Soto.
Should have walked Soto, get a Judge triple play (he’s due).
This is why you need at least two star hitters; so that when one is in a slump or hurt the other is there. Give Soto whatever he wants. Without him this is not even a playoff team. Even with him they are under 500 the second half of the season.
When is the last time they won back-to-back in extra innings?
Back in 2009, I remember they had a crazy streak of three walkoff wins in a row, including two extra inning wins. I’m sure they must have had some since then, though.

Last back 2 back xtra inning wins

The second one, the Yankees gave up FOUR runs in the top of the 13th, then tied it with 4 in the bottom of the 13th, then walked it off on a bases loaded error in the bottom of the 14th.
First back-to-back walk off wins in three years.
LOL
John Smoltz just said “People forget what Jeter was like his first couple of years” when Smoltz was talking about Anthony Volpe. Good grief. Jeter hit .314 as a rookie and then .291.
