It would be nice if A. Rodon would not suck, and B. another shitty lefty doesn’t dominate the Yankees.
LOL 6-7–8-9. As unserious as it gets.
Yankees vs a LHP with a sub 4 era. 1/2/3 go down 1/2/3 as it should be.
Baltimore 9, Chisox 0. They seem to be handling Chicago a lot easier than we did.
It’s not the gloves
Really excited about 34 year old infielder Jon Berti with a career OPS+ of 92 returning to the Yankees as an outfielder. What an addition.
We shoulda got Heaney.
You knew the Yankees weren’t going to do shit, the question was whether Rodon can keep it close.
The Yankees are a fucking joke, there’s no way they’ll ever win a playoff series against a team with good pitching. Can you imagine this squad playing against the 96 Braves? It would be 4 and out a total of 2 scored in the sweep.
Heaney has a 4 era, against the Yankees he’s prime Koufax.
Actually, they do fine against good pitching. Now, if the opposition is smart enough to start mediocre pitchers in lieu of their good ones, the Yankees have no chance.
Not that the playoffs are going to be a long stay, but how could you possibly start this clown in a playoff series? Cole, Stroman, Cortes and then they’re eliminated in the WC but on the off chance it goes 4, you pitch Schmidt regardless of whether or not he’s still hurt. Then you maybe see how much Pettitte has in the tank, then you put a baseball card of Whitey Ford on the mound and hope there’s some kinda Weird Science thing that happens with it and a lightning strike, then you call up Javy Vazquez and Kevin Brown, and THEN, and only then, do you give Rodon the ball.
I don’t think they need to get past Andy.
Volpe, Trevino, Verdugo and Le Mahieu will one day be a trivia question.
Poor Verdugo, OAA says he keeps hitting into bad luck grounding out to second so often.
Boy the Yankees sure do like to roll over.
Well done team.
Soto and Judge are MIA.
And when they are the team rolls over and dies.
The odds of Verdugo and LeMahieu doing something positive in back-to-back AB’s were astronomical, and DJ just proved that by wrecking the inning.
DJL is a really really bad hitter. Sure Berti is a bad hitter but bad is better than really really bad.
That they continue to play him might be the most asinine thing I’ve witnessed as a fan in a long time.
Also the odds of 3 scoreless innings from the pen with a 1 run lead are 0%.
What a strange pinch running decision. A one run game and Boone is pinch running for Gleyber in a one run game with Soto and Judge coming up.
Clay Holmes: Fireman.
Blown save #11 in 3… 2… 1…
At the very least, that had to lose him the job, right? Silver lining there.
Cashman and Boone, dumb and dumber. Thanks, Hal.
Cousins had bad luck, Holmes was just bad.
Four relievers faced 16 batters tonight and got six outs.
And Holmes with the coup de grâce
Pretty sure Dominguez’s post-TJ non-throwing-arm would be more reliable than any other limb in this bullpen.
In the last full inning Holmes has allowed 6 runners and the last out yesterday hit the ball hard but Gleyber made a good play.
Holmes 11 blown saves, Beeks 9, a five way tie for third at 7. Holmes is the Aaron Judge of blown saves.
Yankees now have 8 losses when leading in the 9th inning or later this season. Only the Rockies (9) have more.
It’s just insane that they won’t take away the gig from him. Simply INSANE.
Bone “Just couldn’t finish guys off. Stuff’s there. Feels like he’s throwing the ball well. Got to get over it. We need his excellence. We got to make sure he’s good. Some tough ones of late.”
Asked about replacing him, said can’t answer now too much raw emotion.
The same BS for 7 years from Boone. Cashman is either a saboteur or has some undiagnosed disease.

That graph should look way, way too familiar this year.
Serious question: if we turned over in-game management decisions to the currently available ChatGPT would they win more often? I have to think so.
That’s hardly a question – of course they would. If you made them following the principles of the dartboard index (at random) they’d win more. Boone actively seeks out the worst moves possible. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Pull Holmes. Never.

SicSemper, odd that you had that diatribe against Rodon in THIS GAME, in which his results were pretty magnificent.
