    1. They aren’t a serious team. The guy has an OPS since May 1 ~285, and they keep running him out there. That isn’t serious stuff.

      And Volpe, ugh.

    1. “When you’re struggling like Volpe is, you can’t find yourself in good counts.” Because he approaches the at-bats like a fucking moron!

    2. FAKES A BUNT on the first pitch, takes a strike down the middle.

Meekly swings through while trying to check his swing at a pitch in the dirt.

Then swings through a pitch in with a terrible hack.

Even Verdugo would look at that at-bat and say, “What the fuck are you doing, dude?”

    1. They allowed him to fester in 2023, he played almost every game while being bad offensively. He needed his ass kicked back to AAA in May 2023 (said so at the time), and unlike any [Yankees] team in recent memory, they just kept playing a rookie who sucked.

  1. Is Boone barred from giving phenom a day or two off when he’s on a 1/32? Peraza and Cabrera can both play SS. I know phenom is right up there with Gunnar and Witt Jr, but a day off might help. He looks like a 1/32 hitter.

  2. If the White Sox 2B doesn’t drop that throw we might have been looking at scoring 7 runs in 3 games against Chicago. So of course Boone sits the 3rd and 4th best hitter while sticking with the 2 worst hitters on the team, in the league, in the MLB.

    1. That’s fine but I want Waldo to play every day, for now, against RHPs. I also want phenom to get some days off. He started hitting after the ASB.

  3. Wald! How about playing Wald at 3b against LHPs and see what he can do at SS and 2b against RHPs.
O’Neill always liked his swing and said he could be a 20 home run hitter.

    1. That would’ve been a good idea the last couple of years in the minors. Like when they brought up Waldo and put him in the outfield despite having not played the outfield at all in the minors.

    1. It’s only 199 PAs, small sample, you can’t sit someone who led both leagues in hitting.

    1. Yeah I bet Boone will take that fly ball as something that DJ can build on. Verdugo, Volpe and DJ a combined 0/11throw in Stanton 0/3.

  4. Katie Sharp Yankees win 3-0 despite going 0-10 with RISP tonight.

This is the first time since June 17, 2012 vs Nationals that the Yankees won a game by 3+ runs while going 0-10 or worse with RISP.

  5. What does Volpe have to do to get benched? Literally murder a relative of Cashman? He is beyond atrocious. He is appallingly, incomprehensibly, bad. He is not an MLB player right now.

    1. I continue to be hopeful for Volpe long term, but the Yankees really seem to be dedicated to ruining any chance of him turning into anything beyond what he is now. An elite defensive SS with a streaky bat and pop is still really valuable, but it sure seems like the potential for so much more is there, even if it appears to be disappearing.

  6. Here’s what I’d like to see for a while:

    Torres 2B
    Soto RF
    Judge LF
    Wells C
    Stanton DH
    Rice 1B
    Cabrera 3B
    Peraza SS
    Grisham CF

Is it just me, or would they win much more often with that kind of lineup? I missed my calling: MLB manager!!
