Sure would be nice if Will Warren could show SOMEthing today.
Also, it would be nice if Aaron Judge could go back to hitting home runs.
Stroman IL, Tammy Winans up.
Three of our best 4 starters on IL.
Wait, you’re not a fan of Aaron Judge, singles machine?
(Well, all right, singles and walks.)
better than Stroman
Judge is hurt
Yankees with some milage in the first
Didn’t take long to give it back, did it?
Come on, Warren!
Warren got lucky on a few line drives. I’m not sure he’s even better than Stroman or Cookie. Ten era last year, 6 in the minors.
Dominguez really seemed like a can’t-miss.
Then he came up to the majors and DESTROYED all comers.
Somehow after the injury he looks like a complete loss.
😔
FU, Warren.
I only have GD, but Warren seems to be doing pretty well.
Martian has been fine hitting left handed. Right handed he’s hitting under 100. I wonder how much all that failure hitting from the right affects him. He also was kind of streaky in the minors, hitting so so then exploding.
Before this afternoon he was OPSing 917 against RHPs.
Is Volpe a stolen base threat?
Please, please, Martian, start proving that it’s not over.
The go-go Yanks strike! (Station-to-station go-go, to boot.)
Cody not like daddy like son.
If GD’s right, how on earth was that a ball? Not even close to the edge of the zone!
I’ll take it.
And now he steals 2B.
Run-Rod
Cashman has his eye on him.
Martian!
In big news from The Post Yankees’ DJ LeMahieu ‘itching’ to start rehab process
Hopefully that means a traumatic skin irritation that makes it too uncomfortable to play and last a long, long time.
Nice start to the inning. 🙁
EDIT: FFS
You cannot be serious.
How does this EVER happen?
How come they’re not fined tens of thousands of dollars for walks with a big lead?
Especially no-out walks.
I mean, it’s INSANE!
It was a leadoff hit, followed by a Chisholm error, then a walk.
I’m talking about the walk.
This is just insanity.
Worst loss of the season being teed up.
Did Cruz throw any strikes that AB?
Almost getting out of it is also a great tradition.
Prove me wrong.
Cruz falling apart.
He SHOULD be out of it, so i can’t give him TOO much shit.
Sometimes I buy that logic, but this isn’t one of those times.
And that was strike three (called a ball – doesn’t umpires screwing up make your day, the human element in baseball?)
If only we could make them screw up even MORE often, wouldn’t that be grand?
Weaver to face 8/9 hitters in the 6th? If Boone was going to do that might as well have brought him in the batter before.
A thought that I think occurred simultaneously to literally everyone on the planet.
Well, except the guy in the dugout.
He, like the girl in the John Sebastian song, is still a mystery to me.
Finally.
Only two Yankees left with OPSs over 1.000.
RICE!
Judge has a great eye and really makes contact.
If only he had power, he could be something.
His OPS is 1.2+, people should just calm down.
You were killing Volpe when his OPS was higher than that!
And it’s not like I’m really being serious, anyway.
Volpe has a 2-year track record of bad.
Tough game to watch.
(Using “watch” in the broadest sense.)
Jeeez, come ON!
Finally.
Couldn’t make it easier, of course.
Ball four
Such an inconsistent strike zone.
Have they brought Wetteland into be the new pitching coach?
Mark “Felix” Leiter
I’m hoping you mean that whenever he gets in a fix, he can reach into his bag of tricks.
Ha, I was actually thinking of the Bond character
odds of a Williams meltdown?
Three balls, none anywhere NEAR the plate.
What is the DEAL, Devin?
…
UPD: make that four.
Okay, where are they hiding Wetteland, and why?
Devin.
You’re supposed to consistently have a microscopic ERA. Why would you suddenly start sucking NOW?
Since when do you use a guy with a 12 era in the 9th?
Goose had a 2.56 era April 1978
Whew!
Got to him!
Okay. Decent win.
Ugly day wins are always nice.
The most important thing about the game was Will Warren pitching well. That’s huuuuuuuuge.
Agreed. Dominguez showing signs was also nice, but Warren’s the biggest deal.
White Sox beat Boston again. Chapman with the loss. Fitts pitched pretty well. I’d hate to see the guy we gave up for Verdugo be good.
Fitts left the game with a shoulder injury.
I don’t want him to be injured, of course, but it’s interesting that he added a lot of extra velocity to his fastball this Spring, and you have to wonder if there’s an added health risk when you do that.
Bears beat Rams 16-0.
