  1. Nice game. Embarrassing, but we should be getting used to this. By the end of July, the O’s should be up by 4 games, maybe 5. Hal is the problem, bringing back Cashman who was done 8 years ago.

  2. DFA DJ, and I DON’T want to hear he’s good defensively. FFS, he cannot hit, this is 4 seasons in a row he has been a mess at the plate with the best OPS in that span of 734.

    1. Just you wait until the Great 34 year old, oft injured Jon Berte career OPS 703, 649 this year is back. Then you’ll something special.

  3. Among all players with at least 130 plate appearances this season, LeMahieu ranks sixth-worst iOf the five players with poorer performances than LeMahieu, two have been designated for assignment and one has been benched.
The Yankees designated Josh Donaldson for assignment last season after he posted a .659 OPS and 75 wRC+. LeMahieu sits at a .482 OPS and 47 wRC+. He’s under contract for TWO MORE YEARS!

    1. Cashman gave him that deal off 50(!) games in 2020, and DJ turning 33 in the middle of the first year on that contract.

    1. Yeah, it should have “Magic” for three plus, then Holmes for one.

To waste Tonkin, and then even fuck him over by pulling him with no outs and a runner on first base, was super douchey.

    1. The groundouts are bad, no doubt, but I think what’s even WORSE is how EARLY in the at-bats they are. When you swing first pitch and constantly ground that first pitch to second base, what the fuck are you even DOING?

  4. Cortes before today June 3.97 era, July 5.23 era; Stroman 5.13/5.79; Rodon 7.76, 6.08. Are there many worse 345 or in Boone’s eyes 245 in baseball right now? What’s happened? Is Blake of Boone at fault or jus bad luck?

  5. Verdugo and Gleyber are each having the worst years of their careers. DJ too but maybe that’s just age. Volpe has been erratic this year but he hasn’t improved which would’ve been expected. Waldo has gotten worse since his rookie year. Bader, IKF and Rortvedt have been much better after leaving the Yankees. Is none of this on Boone and his coaching staff? A fish rots from the head.
Judge’s personal hitting coach said “They’ve lost 13 out of 18 while he’s hitting like an MVP. The Yankees offensive player development is terrible.”

    1. We lead in so many categories! DP’s, Verdugo grounding out to 2nd, so many.

    1. How can they possibly think the Yankees have better odds than BAL? Is their schedule that much easier?

  6. Baltimore winning big and Boston just took a 2 run lead in the 10th thanks to O’Neill’s second home run. Do they sign O’Neill if we don’t take Verdugo off their hands?
Tyler Oneill 871. Vertigo 658 and dropping rapidly.

    1. I think they kind of knew or suspected something. Why else would they trade him to the Yankees?

    2. I SORT of agree, in the sense that I think they no longer saw a future for him with the team, but I don’t think it was because they thought he was going to explode or anything based on some inside information, they just thought O’Neill was better, so they felt the future of the team was O’Neill, Duran, and a variety of other options (like Raffaela or Abreu). They basically had a lot of options for the outfield, and Verdugo was the least useful of them all, and since he makes $10 million, it made more sense to dump him for whatever they could get for him.
