Boy, this sure ain’t a good team for the Yankees to be playing at this exact moment. Oh well, hopefully they try their best. I am NOT a fan that Boone is planning on DJ to play second base when he is activated. Shouldn’t the plan be to have him and Waldo split third and just let Vivas play? Or maybe the plan is DJ and Vivas at 2nd and 3rd against lefties, and Waldo and Vivas against righties. I just don’t want Vivas to get fucked over, as he actually looks like he can hit a little.
I think the Yankees are telling us what they think about Jasson Dominguez. Even as a LHH he is running a .415 BABIP, striking out 26.5% of the time, and 30% opposite field percentage with high soft contact rates.

Also Trent has been good.
Yeah, I think it is more a pro-Grisham thing than anything.
That didn’t quite work.
Another runner thrown out at the plate.
TPTG.
That’s why Dominguez is seeing the bench so much. How do you ever sit Grisham right now?
That’s also why they HAVE to keep Vivas in the lineup. He actually knows the strike zone, unlike so many other guys on this. When LeMahieu is back, Vivas has to keep playing.
It’s gotta be sweet to hit a homer off of the team that insisted that the other team had to take you if they wanted the star player.
They’re gonna be using the torpedo bats as actual torpedoes soon.
Could Rodon actually be………..Good?
The Cy young who was promised.
This is what Cashman was betting on.
Let’s call the whole thing off
When did Pivetta get good. I wanted him to accept the townie’s offer.
If Rodon turns out to be good I am worried for Brian’s mental health
I have faith that Rodon will not ultimately spark any quality-of-pitcher related mental meltdowns.
Thank you, Sic
Derby winner was a big overlay in the win pool. A lot of the money guys played him in double and picks.
Driving in…a run??
Can’t defend speed.
Could this game be Devin’s big moment?
Or will he blow it again?
Does Jazz make that play?
Whose lane is the ate?
Tyler Wade?
You don’t walk Tyler Wade.
In-fucking-sane.
Can’t they just bring Weaver in now?
A four pitch walk after he got a borderline call on Tatis.
Just too, too shitty.
Come on best relief pitcher in the game – you can give up a granny! Ahhh they didn’t let him
Blow it.
If he’s afraid to throw his fast ball to good hitters how valuable is he?
This is why you don’t let Williams pitch to Arraez.
Well, THAT sucked. Weaver’s first run of the season sure came at a terrible moment.
Weaver was due for a bad game.
Yep. That’s why it was ridiculous to bring him in with absolutely NO rope.
Devin’s era is now 10, it used to be 11,baby steps.
This blows
Boy, this team has some awful fucking timing.
Did Cruz deserve to pitch the eighth? I know they want to straighten Devin out but Cruz has been very good.
Whose lane was it anyway?
Williams had been pitching well in the 8th. But yes, after this shit show, I think you probably give Cruz the 8th next time.
Again, though, Weaver was awful, as well.
They don’t just lose, they lose BRUTAL games. As noted, they’re TERRIBLE in close games.
They shoot Devin Williams, don’t they?
It feels like this team has blown more multi-run 8th/9th inning leads in the last two years than they did in Mo’s entire career.
Rodon looks really good.
Seems like a pretty piss poor ratio of blown leads to comebacks this season. Have we had any comeback wins?
From the previous thread, in games decide by 1 or 2 runs. About to become 6-13.
White Sox 2-13 (.133)
Twins 4-11 (.267)
Rockies 4-11 (.267)
Yankees 6-12 (.333)
See? Just BRUTAL losses. Belli hit that HARD.
It’s tough to have comeback wins when you have so many bad hitters.
Was Devin a one pitch pitcher in the NL.
Ask Pete Alonzo.
Weakly, meekly, bleakly in the bottom of the ninth?
I think the team will be fine overall, but boy, they sure don’t make it easy to root for them.
Nailed it, weakly, meekly, bleakly.
Devin Williams is a dumpster fire, he needs to be banished to mop up role.
I don’t think this is a good team unless Belli, Wells, the Martian and Devin get a whole lot better without Rice, PGold and Cruz getting worse. We have to hope DJ has a renaissance and that’s a faint hope.
The team as is has the second-best SRS in the AL. So I think they’ll be fine.
But yes, Devin Williams should now have to work his way back to the 8th inning.
these losses suck but there are still a lot of reasons they should get better as the season goes on. mostly it would be nice though to see boone put players in a position to succeed.
the pablo reyes should just be over, peraza is more fun to watch.
in fact, if they can move volpe for something put jazz at ss and let the oswalds play. or vivas.
Reyes will be gone as soon as LeMahieu is back.
They blow leads, they don’t often come from behind, the manager is awful. 2-5 last 7 games, West Coast trip upcoming, then back home to face the Mets who embarrassed them in 2024.
Reporter “that was kind of a mixed bag for Devin tonight,”A MIXED BAG?? Boone said he considered using Cruz but it was set up for Devin.
At least it’ll probably mean Cruz next time.
I take great pleasure in reminding you all that I said Devin Williams was just a reliever, and I was right
Verdugo hitting 322/826 for Atlanta
Devin Williams: “I feel good. I feel confident on the mound. I felt like I was in a good spot. It’s one of those nights where you’re not only battling the hitter, but I was battling the mound. We’re all given the same set of circumstances. I couldn’t come through tonight.”

Katie S Worst W-L In Games Decided by 1 Run This Season:
White Sox 2-8 (.200)
Yankees 3-8 (.273)
Red Sox 4-9 (.308)
Twins 3-6 (.333)
Rockies 3-6 (.333)
Yankees now have 5 losses when leading in the 8th inning or later this season.
That’s the most in MLB.
Devin Williams got a hold.

That’s hilarious.
