  1. Scott Proctor made only 2.8 million dollars in his MLB career, but he made 2.8 million appearances for the ’06 and the ’07 Yankees.

Also, Tanyon Sturtze had ERAs of; 5.47, 4.73, and 7.59 in the three years he played for the Yankees.

Thanks for this game Brian! I’m hoping Mussina makes the list for question A.

  2. Here are my guesses:
    A. Most games pitched, 2000-2009:
    1. Rivera
    2. Mussina
    3. Proctor
    4. Pettitte
    5. Stanton, M.
    B. Most RBI, 2020-present:
    1. Judge
    2. Stanton, G.
    3. Torres
    4. LeMahieu
    5. Bellinger, or at least it should be by the end of his contract
    C. Most wins, 1980s:
    1. Guidry
    2. Righetti
    3. John
    4. Niekro
    5. Gossage

    1. You nailed the top five for pitcher appearances in the 2000s (Stanton is 2nd overall).

You got four out of five for RBIs in the 2020s (no Belli). The answer is KIND of funny (to me, at least).

And you got four out of five for wins in the 1980s (no Gossage). This one is the trickiest by far. Rick Rhoden is sixth, by the way, four wins behind this guy (or maybe he was four wins below Niekro and this guy was ahead of Niekro?). And since Rhoden only pitched two seasons as a Yankee, that speaks to how shitty the Yankee starting pitching was in the 1980s.

    2. I love, by the way, looking back at trades from the 1980s that would NEVER happen today. No one is trading the farm for Rick Rhoden in his age 34 season, even coming off of a 6 bWAR season in his 33 season.

  3. Hoch Aaron Judge is expected to hit in the cages today, Aaron Boone said. He has been doing tee-and-toss, so Boone said he expects Judge to advance to overhand BP.

Max Fried could potentially be in play for Saturday’s doubleheader against the Red Sox, Boone said.

Kirschner Elmer Rodriguez could start tomorrow’s game, Aaron Boone said. They’ll get through tonight’s game before officially deciding.

  4. So the Astros say they’re not bringing Espada back. Can he please replace Boone? Espada has Dana Brown’s team outperforming their Pythag by 4 games, while Boone has Cashman’s Yankees underperforming Pythag by 2.

    1. Boone’s not going anywhere. He’s making the playoffs with Judge out for most of the year.

    2. Boone isn’t making the playoffs, Cam Schlittler and Matt Blake are making the playoffs.

    1. No idea what language that first sentence is written in.
But I’m glad something’s going well for you!
Hope it has nothing to do with cannibalism.
