  1. I’m ok with them cutting Doval completely. I have zero confidence he is anything other than guy with a live arm. He pitches exceptionally slow AND is wild. There’s nothing enjoyable about watching him pitch.

    1. I almost want him to just go to the minors and throw the splitter constantly until he learns how to locate it. He NEEDS that splitter to be effective and he just CANNOT locate it. It’s MADDENING.

  2. It’s weird that they’re acting like no Judge in the lineup is “news,” when, well, come on, he obviously wasn’t playing tonight.

    CF T. Grisham L
    1B Ben Rice L
    DH P. Goldschmidt R
    LF C. Bellinger L
    2B J. Chisholm L
    RF J. Caballero R
    3B Ryan McMahon L
    C Austin Wells L
    SS A. Volpe R

    1. He is an interesting case where his peripherals don’t look bad, he just doesn’t have an out pitch because he can’t locate the splitter. He can get ahead with his lesser pitches, but then he can’t put anyone away, because his splitter is either an obvious ball (or wild pitch) or left right in the zone for batters to crush.

He’s just a fucking moron, and analytics have difficulty “grading” guys who suck because they’re just fucking morons, because the pitch quality suggests that this guy really SHOULD be better, but he isn’t, because he can’t locate his “out” pitch to save his life because he’s a fucking moron.
