Matt Blake seemed to have a little success with Blackburn, as he pitched MUCH better as his time as a Yankee went along. When they had a full rotation, I was fine with bringing either Blackburn or Yarbrough back, but now that they are down two starters, I don’t mind Blackburn AND Yarbrough getting gigs, as Yarbrough gets the rotation spot and Blackburn gets the long man role.
If he shows any more improvement, he might get to pitch some important innings (for instance, I thought Weaver was going to be purely a long man in 2024, and he turned out to be a good short man, and maybe the same could be true for Blackburn).
