  1. What would you choose?
    A. Judge surpasses Raleigh in the home run race, setting a new all-time record, but the Yankees miss the playoffs, or
    B. The Yankees win the division (and probably get brutally embarrassed by the first team with decent pitching they come across, but that’s not part of the choice scenario).

(I was going to amplify the first option with “and it’s obviously Boone’s fault, possibly getting him fired” but 1. OBVIOUSLY it would be Boone’s fault, and 2. that would make A. the blindingly obvious choice and the whole exercise, therefore, uninteresting.)

    1. And to head the return question off at the pass – the Bonds-era HR tallies are bullshit, there’s no reason to pay them any attention.

  2. I’m sorry. That’s because I actually looked and saw how awesome Schittler’s line was. As soon as I saw it, I switched away, but apparently too late.

    1. I think there was only a bit of overlap. It wasn’t long after Rice started stinking that Wells fell off a cliff, right?

  3. I wish Raleigh would catch the flu or something and miss 2-3 games. Is it just me – it feels like this guy is a one year hitting wonder. Feels like he has been in the league a bit and then came out of no where…

  4. What’s truly ridiculous is that if the Yankees pass the Blue Jays (they still could, but they obviously won’t) they would finish with the best AL record.

OK, well, I guess technically the Mariners could somehow finish ahead of them in that scenario (if Toronto loses out), but that is highly unlikely.

    1. Simply put, I guess it’s that while they suck, for what should be a good team, all the other good teams suck, too.
      Hope?
