Boone is never going to give Volpe up. No matter how much it screws the Yankees.
MLB features Vin Scully’s call of the last inning of Kaufax’s perfect game.
It’s… fine. I liked the bit of description – taking helmets off and putting them on again. There was no analysis whatsoever, though – nothing like “after these two pitches he’s set him up for this pitch,” or “he’s trying to pitch him this way,” or… anything.
The final call was “A perfect game!” – neither inventive or striking. And then silence… fanboys will say “to let us bask in the noise of the…”
…of the crowd of only 29000, which wasn’t particularly loud or interesting.
I’ll never get the cult of Vin Scully. He’s… okay. Offer me Cone and Kenny and I Scully wouldn’t even cross my mind.
I prefer fewer words from announcers and their sidekicks.
Cant be a Yankee start without their starter throwing a million pitches in the first inning.
I like it better when he doesn’t expand the zone.
I think maybe I kind of even agree with this a little bit.
Granted, he actually DID expand the zone earlier in the at-bat. But just once!
JUDGE!
Go on a rampage, guy. This is the time!
Maybe Judge made friends with a squirrel, as Fried did. Look at what it did for Fried.
It can only be one thing behind most Yankees starters throwing so many pitches, especially in the first inning. Some weird pitching philosophy which permeates the entire organization.
