This has GOT to be one of the very few meetings between pitchers named Max, right?
Maybe Judge should play left and Cody right.
If only someone had suggested batting Rice after Judge…
Definitely need to drop Rice in the lineup.
Also, if Scherzer’s back is acting up, why even start him here? Surely they have SOMEone who could make a spot start for them.
Why is Kay constantly plugging the Sex And The City sequel?
Does a better SS get to that?
.
Good question. Either way, can’t be giving up RBI singles to IKF.
When I saw they picked him up the other day, I seriously thought, “Watch him play well against the Yankees next week.”
Grrrr.
I’m not sure I’d brag about having control of Bird and Doval just yet.
Fried not looking sharp, a 3-0 lead about to be blown.
And just like that Fried and phenom.
Rice is not a good 1B and phenom’s fielding has looked scared like he’s afraid to make a mistake so of course he does.
The thought of the Yankees beating Toronto in a series would be an affront to the Newtonian laws of Physics.
Judge had his pitch and fouled it off before walking.
Yeah, even earlier in the season, when he was pitching well, Toronto has given Fried a ton of problems.
I think he struggles with teams that make a lot of good contact, as he pitches to contact.
A serious major league team doesn’t play a minor leaguer at SS every day.
It really does seem like it would make more sense to play Caballero there more often.
They are unserious.
Volpe is just so embarrassing at the plate.
It’s not good when you know the last three hitters are all easy strikeouts (especially the last two).
booing Volpe, you love to see it
These have been four really gritty innings from Scherzer. He’s just a beast to be able to pitch this well while hurt and 40 years old.
Hate that call against Judge. You need to reward him for having a good eye!
How many low strikes have they called like that on Judge in his career? Hundreds.
Need Belli or Rice to reach to make the lefty have to face Stanton.
Can’t pinch hit Goldy just yet.
So of course it works out perfectly for Toronto.
Raleigh with #53.
Remember their pen is TERRIBLE. We will blow the game wide open.
Repeat after me, Stanton, do not expand the zone.
He would not repeat after me.
The highest scoring team in the MLB vs the Jays pen, like shooting fish in a barrel. What did Cincy score? Eleven?
I don’t like seeing Devin Williams on my screen. Don’t like it one bit.
You know we’ll see Devin or/and Doval
Great job by Fried
Yup. Hung in there for 7. Nice job by the “choker” we were calling him a month ago.
Not that we will win since the BP will choke
Three hits and 2 errors
Big game by Volpe!
Bottom 3 are 0 for 9 with 8 Ks. Just wow
You definitely keep Fried out there for Schneider, to keep Barger on the bench.
WOW! JUST WOW phenom!
They were afraid to be leave the lefty in for phenom
The more they say how bad a.pen is, the worse we do it’s a tautology
Terrible, terrible managing. You keep Barger on the bench, you fucking moron.
LOL Williams
I fully expect a Barger dinger here now because Boone is an absolute fool.
Williams you don’t get to act pissed at a tough play in the field when you fucking SUCK
I still can’t get over the stupidity of not keeping Fried in for Schneider.
Well, at least this means no Barger to pinch hit in the ninth.
Giancarlo “I will swing at anything” Stanton
Ugh, they even made Hoffman look good.
Springer and Barger looming if anyone gets on
Three fucking hits
It’s never freaking easy.
11 hits in 3 games? And winning the series? That’s gotta be pretty rare
Nice throw
well well well
Never EASY, but Bednar is obviously really fucking good.
Winning 4-3 when getting only 3-hits and making 2 errors. Well, a 3-run HR was one of those hits.
Blue Jays, greatest bullpen? Or Yankees ineptitude? Yeah.
One hit after one out in the first against a 40yo with a bad back and a terrible pen, 6 era recently.
phenom last 23 PAs 3-21, 143 with 11 Ks. Thank God Boone had so much faith in him.
More errors than hits over that span?
Double.
What the hell does “free game of the day on MLB.com” mean when you hit the button and it tells you it’s only available on some other platform?
Way to build your anti-MLB PR machine.
Are you abroad now? Worked fine for me
Or, are you in the NYC area
Abroad, but I have a vpn going.
What, exactly, worked fine for you?
Elmer Cruz 5ip 0r 2h 8Ks. I wonder if Cruz or LaGrange, hit 101 times and 103 once last game, will crack top 100 lists.
So they just won 2 series in a row against first place teams. And that included a loss based on a total Booner. If they had a real manager they’d be running away with the division. Same is true if they had a real major leaguer playing SS.
This is no hyperbole, it’s simply the truth.
The players can be dumb, but even with that this is true.
More than any other single factor, the game-change is Aaron Boone.
Quite so. The obsession over playing Volpe is bizarre. They are unserious.
They are now 17 games over 500. This is what they were on June 12th. The high water mark of the season. But it means they’ve played 500 ball for just about exactly 3 months.
So yet another 90 win season (big deal with the highest payroll in the league); another playoff; and almost certainly another playoff exit without a championship. But as long as they’re making money the owner doesn’t care.
WP–I checked the score on the MLB phone app and saw that it was a free game, so I clicked Watch and it took me to the game. I switched to laptop later and same–clicked the Watch option and got the feed.
Do you have a (free) MLB.com account and were you logged in on whatever device you were using?
Really? How strange.
I did log in, but I got a message saying it was on… I forget the service. But I was supposed to download some app to watch it on another service, as if I didn’t know the point was to lead me into some ultimately paid rabbit hole.
What a comeback by the Bills.
It was cool, but as someone playing Josh Allen in fantasy, and barely losing because of it, that part wasn’t fun.
phenom still in second place in worst OBP Michael Harris 264, phenom 269.
