  1. And as for Clemens – I have no problem with performative, they’re performers, after all. And backing the cult of the Babe is the right tone to strike.
I have more problems with him pitching incredibly obviously chemically jacked up and making an ass of himself on the field.

  2. Cone “Let the ball play him a little bit,” which has been a theme for phenom all season. “Tailor made double play ball,” after Kay excused him for a bad hop..

    1. A quick hook. He swung and was HBP. The ump made the right call. Don’t know what he said or didn’t say.

  3. That’s only his third home run to left this season. He also has only two doubles to left. Jazz, Judge, and Trent going oppo for hits, Jazz and Trent home runs.

    1. Good thing he didn’t play last October. Wouldn’t have been able to handle the pressure.

Please tell me a beat writer asked these guys if Framber drilled his own catcher on purpose

2 pitches after that, Framber Valdez and his catcher César Salazar get crossed up and Salazar gets hit in the ribs which Valdez does not appear to care a whole lot about. Lotta speculation about

    1. Grisham is coming off a career year and Cash was forced to take his contract as part of the Soto deal.

    2. You have to be very careful with signing a guy like Grisham. If they can do a 2-year deal, maybe okay, anything longer, let someone else do it. The trade for McMahon and his money hurts as well, maybe they can get someone to take McMahon off their hands? He’s owed $32 million in 26-27.

    3. Yeah, that has been my big concern with McMahon this entire time. He’s fine if that money isn’t impacting your spending, but if it IS, then it is a very bad pickup.

  5. Stanton was amazing while it lasted. None of us thought that was his new level, we know what he’s like.
And that it tends to happen in the playoffs makes it worthwhile, doesn’t it?
    (I know, playoffs, cockeyed optimism…)
