  1. Meredith to Boone Aaron what was ‘fill in name’ doing to shut you down. Boone we had a hit and a walk in the same inning so I liked our at bats.

  2. Coming into the series, that Rodon game seemed like the only one they realistically were going to be able to win, so let’s hope he doesn’t let the pressure get to him. I know, I know, Carlos Rodon always handles the pressure well, so it won’t be a big deal.

    1. And yes, that SHOULDN’T be the only one they realistically could win, but come on, we know this team.

I’m not even that pissed about it. They’ll probably catch up to Boston when they play other teams. New York are just pathetic chokers against Boston, and Boston plays better against the Yankees. Narvaez and Wong were both in huge slumps, and both had big hits against the Yankees.

Warren was doing well against other teams, shits the bed against Boston. Aaron Judge turned into, as noted, Anthony Volpe, against Boston.

It’s pathetic, and they should all feel very ashamed, but at the same token, they’re unlikely to continue this behavior against other teams.

  3. They could’ve won the first game if Boone used Rosario, who got 2 hits today, to hit for McMahon with the bases loaded against Wilson.
They could’ve won yesterday if they scored 2 or 3 which is not a crazy ask.
Notice Caballero drew 2 walks today while phenom did squat.

    1. Boone has been so bad; combined with the bullpen woes (why does Matt Blake get no criticism). No wonder, good teams make them look awful.

    2. I’m more worried about the hitting. Nobody reason they can’t get 2 or 3 vs Bello.

    3. The bullpen has lost so many games, though. As you pointed out yesterday:

The pen has the 9th worst era in baseball.

    4. It really is crazy to think that they added Rosario and Caballero, and all BOTH guys have done since they’ve got here is hit and play well (I mean, Caballero also made a huge game-losing error in his first game, but come on, they were losing that game regardless).

      And Boone just….doesn’t use them.

      It’s really quite silly.

    5. As to the games they lost, they THEORETICALLY could have won them, but come on, you see this team, they’re just a bunch of headcases who just get mental blocks against their rivals. It’s pathetic, and they should all be disgusted by themselves, but it is what it is.

They’ll go beat up on some shitty teams and get right back into good playoff shape.

  4. Katie S Yankees have lost 8 straight games vs Red Sox, all since June.

The only other time they had a longer losing streak within a season vs Red Sox was 1912 (14 straight losses)

  5. Yankees got rawdogged by the Dodgers, Jays, Astros and Sox thus far this season. Who even wants them to make the playoffs? Unless the Twins are the opponent there is no chance.

    1. The fact of the matter is that you really never know once they’re in the playoffs.

Except if the Yankees play the Red Sox, then we know they’ll lose.

    1. Did the broadcasters even broach the subject other than saying he’s 1 for his last whatever?

  6. I skipped the game early and then I was out. Some other the lowlights phenom’s pathetic bunt and Jazz making Just Wilson look like Billy Wagner at his best. To be overmatched by Justin Wilson. Caballero with two walks looks so much more like a professional than phenom, McMahon or Jazz.

  7. Boone “We gotta turn that around. Obviously we gotta be better. Volpe made an error, his first in a few weeks, he’s been playing really well out there.”

  8. If I could read their (Boone, Cash, Hal, analytics) mind
What a tale their thoughts could tell

What do Boone, Cash, Hal and the analytics guys really think about phenom.

  9. that’s the definition of running out of time, you absolute dunce

    ************

Aaron Boone was asked if he thinks the Yankees are “running out of time” to get themselves on track against teams above .500:

“No, we’re not running out of time, but if we don’t do better, then it’s going to fizzle out and we’re not going to get to where we want to be.”
