  1. This was an obvious result. I honestly don’t even mind it. Schlittler is still working through shit. He’s a better option than Stroman or Carrasco. When Yarbrough is healthy, though, they might want to give him the #5 spot.

  2. Did Dontrelle just say Jasson’s always had power? Three home runs since June 1. One home run and only 1 double the last 28 days. Still shaky defensively. He’s turned into a disappointment, not Wells level, but still. Are the Yankees trying to turn him into a 270 singles hitter?

  3. Wells last 28 days 115/334. Of all qualifiers over the last 30 days only James Wood, not the actor, has a lower BA 105 and no one has a worse OPS, James Wood is 341.

  4. Reminder o/u for # of Yankee hits thru 6 was 2 1/2. Right now on pace for under. Kind of shocking since the Yankees are such a great hitting team.

  5. We have no shot unless it goes to 11. Meanwhile only 4 hits thru 8, which is par. We were lucky that 3 hits came in the same inning. The 6th was our last shot and Cody struck out. This team can’t hit.

    1. No solace in that. He 100% should have been the last man in the COT after the last loss. I was astonished that even Boone would use Devin there. Flabbbergasted.

    1. I think last Friday’s game where Boone also shit the bed two or three times along with a few relievers. Bird is on Cash but letting Bird pitch to Stowers was on Boone.

    2. That was a weird game, though, in that Weaver, Hill, and Williams were all unavailable. So it was a very short bullpen (which made Rodon’s performance even worse, of course).

Boone had EVERYONE but Bednar available tonight, and he STILL went to Williams like a fucking lunatic.

  6. Boone “were kind of short down there at that point. Leiter probable staying away. So down to lefties. And that’s middle right lane for Devin. Didn’t work out tonight. The depth of the changeup was there. There was some life to the fastball. He made a couple of mistakes. You gotta use your guys.”
Boone wasn’t watching the same game everybody else was.

Leiter pitched 1 inning on Wednesday, .1 on Tuesday.

    1. I don’t get the Hill for Trammell thing. Either use Hill or don’t. I get why you wouldn’t pull Williams at THAT point, two outs, runner on first, run already in.

But I definitely would have used Leiter 1st, and Hill 2nd, over Williams PERIOD.

Get Williams through A SINGLE FUCKING GOOD INNING before you even SLIGHTLY trust the guy again.

  7. Katie S Since June 13, the Yankees are 19-30.

That’s the worst record among all AL teams in that

Yankees bullpen now has 25 losses, tied for 4th most in MLB.

Does Hal even watch these game?

    1. Yeah, I don’t get it. I really don’t get it. Doesn’t he fucking get that a GOOD manager would make HIM look better? It’s so self-defeating.

  8. Between Devin Williams, Aaron Boone, and Brian Cashman, I’m not sure who just sucks at his job and who is throwing games at the behest of his bookie.

    1. Williams could make a ton more as a free agent than any gambler would pay him. I doubt he’s intentionally screwing up.

Cashman could (and does) set up the team for failure in the aggregate, but he is not situated to impact individual events.

If anyone is throwing games for profit, it’s most likely Boone.
