While obviously no game is a “must win,” if they can’t beat Frankie Montas with Rodon on the other side, then they probably aren’t going to win many games.
I have to say, though, while I haaaate the Martian getting bumped down in the lineup, the whole “Belli over Goldy at first base” solution to get the others into the lineup is legit very clever.
Sucks about Clarke Schmidt. That definitely lowers the ceiling on this year’s team a LOT.
Rays up 5-1, Jays up 3-2.
Montas mowed ’em down in the first inning on 9 pitches.
Embrace the incompetence
Rodon sure did.
LOL. Game, over, and it is still the first inning.
Embrace Rodon
Yankees don’t do well with a lead. It’d be nice if they ever came back.
It’s fascinating how the entire pitching staff has decided to suck at once.
Just a total embrace of being terrible. It also highlights how weak-minded all these guys are.
Also, while it’s academic at this point since the game is over, why in the world did the Martian get buried in the lineup after having a monster game leading off?
It’s Boone’s way. At least he didn’t sit Jasson.
Four runs on two hits. It would take the Yankees 12 hits to get three runs.
Embrace the phenom(ena)
Why would Boone even HINT at moving Jazz off third if it wasn’t going to happen at all?
And also, Peraza is an actively good third baseman defensively! It’s like they’re unwilling to admit to a basic mistake.
The idea that we are just going to watch Jazz routinely make errors at third and nothing will change is maddening.
They are unserious.
subsuboptimal
Another error by Jazz. But don’t go changing to try to win games. Boone didn’t start the fire or did he?
It’s so fucking aggravating.
They can only hit home runs if no one is on base. God forbid they ever hit a grand slam (their last granny was… when?).
Schlitter to get the nod. He will suck in the Majors.
At least he can throw hard
would be nice if the ump stopped expanding the zone for montas
not that it matters
The Twins walk it off against the Rays with a bunt single.
phenom now 692 and rapidly falling (failing)
Nice job, Rodon. 😡
Hal, time to fire Cashman and Boone, let them ride off into the sunset together.
At least Montas still sucks.
Rodon says: Hi!
Oh, sure, but hey, at least Montas wasn’t awesome. That would have driven me extra nuts.
Mutts dominating the Yankees without using their best relievers. Just bring in guys who can’t get anyone else out and they’ll dominate the Yankees.
While every Yankee reliever will give up a run guaranteed.
Nice AB Austin
Jays win in 11, Yankees about to be three behind on July 5. Is Cashman still alive? Or just drooling over some retreads for the trade deadline?
Still tied for the top Wild Card!
But yeah, these last two Blue Jays wins are particularly painful because they’re not even playing WELL, they just got last licks in extra innings.
LOL Sandridge, as Boone waves the white flag. Going down with the sinking ship.
Sandridge about to be DFAed.
Hal, hello, Hal?
The Collapseos are sending a message.
Effross still got it. Sandridge was a nice find Cash, 26 years old career minor leaguer 3.76 era.
townies kicking ass like you’re supposed to do against a weak team. I said 3rd place on or before Sunday, Rays not cooperating. I said 4th place on or before 9/1. I’m moving the estimate up to 8/15 but could easily be much earlier.
You forget the brilliant moves Cashman will pull off at the trade deadline. And that Boone will finally move Jazz off third base by the end of July.
And the answer is Yankees have signed INF Jeimer Candelario to a Minor League contract.
Candelario 2025 80 ABs 113/198/213
I thought he made sense before 2024, and he’s just been terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible since then.
I don’t know what the Martian is or will be. That was terrible.
The Yankees score a run at a time, the Boys of Shea hit grand slams.
Yep. It’s very annoying.
If George was still alive people would be getting executed in the parking lot.
This made me laugh, and is not far off from the truth. Thanks! It’s times like these that make me glad I don’t actually watch games anymore and just view the condensed games after wins. I haven’t watched many condensed games recently …
Meredith the bullpen has struggled ‘at times.’ Boone I feel like we have a good defensive club. These are the moments that build character.
Just put Jazz back to second for fuck’s sake!

LOL! That was just … awesome. He was saying what we’re all thinking! Thanks for that.
Welcome. To be sure, I didn’t make it, but am glad to link. The videos on that channel are perhaps the third application of AI that I have found morally justifiable. The first was in hypothesis generation for structural biology (eg AlphaFold; though any in silico predictions still require experimental validation!); and the second was this: https://www.youtube.com/c/thereiruinedit
And of course the discerning, actual intellect of a human author is essential to all those applications.
LOL 👍🏻
Records are made to be broken.
Yankees Last 6 Games:
34 Runs Scored, 6 Losses
It’s the 2nd time in franchise history they’ve had a 6-game span with 6 losses and 30+ runs scored.
The other time this happened was in 1912.
Perfect, I’m guessing YES won’t air this.
