How in the fuck does Yarbrough keep drawing the other team’s ace every fucking turn through the rotation?! That has worked out in the last two outings, but obviously you can’t keep something like that up, so tonight’s probably the time Yarbrough’s luck runs out, especially with the insanely terrible lineup the Yankees are using, with DJ fucking LeMahieu batting 6th (to be fair, part of the problem is that Volpe obviously can’t play tonight after getting a contusion on his elbow last night) and both Rice and Dominguez playing (they’re both awful against lefties).
Hopefully Judge at least stays over .390 after tonight.
I wouldn’t mind a rainout tonight.
There used to be a track announcer at Atlantic City and Philadelphia who when a horse opened up multiple lengths on the way to the win would say “If this were a fight they would stop it.” Thats how I feel about this game.
I thought Narvaez was a medicine for neuropathy.
Huh, at this pace, my projection of 21 Ks for Crochet is probably a BIT too high.
Ok game over
These on field interviews are so lame.
They’re so silly, but at the same time, they’re at least DIFFERENT, so I get the appeal.
Goooooone!
Even if they lose this, that was pretty fucking cool.
Called it. Not!
Yarbrough’s trying a bold “Give up a double in every inning” approach.
I don’t think it will work out the way he wants.
Nice play, Goldy.
Welp.
As I said earlier, I’m just celebrating the 3 runs off of Crochet. That’s good enough in my book.
We couldn’t expect Yarbough to keep winning these absurd pitching matchups.
I haven’t watched all the games so I don’t think I’ve seen Yarborough pitch before… he’s usually better than this right?
He throws junk. Guys like that sometimes just get rocked.
Sort of like how knuckleballers sometimes get crushed.
this is uh not good
In a way, it’s almost “good” to remind us that he’s truly just a fill-in guy. A very good fill-in guy, but a fill-in guy nevertheless. As soon as Gil returns, he’ll be back in long relief.
btw its awesome to see this place is still going. lots of good memories! Who remembers the Curse of Clay Bellinger counter??
I tried a counter, by the way, but there was no good WordPress plugin for one.
a counter now would be too depressing. 16 years!
Was that before Jerry Hairston?
Yeah, the last counter was Hairston/Hinske.
also Reyes stinks on D!
Yeah, his Yankee days are nearing an end as soon as Stanton is activated. Unless Volpe’s injury is more significant than expected.
Romy who?
boy do i have stories about this place…remember the time Larry’s house burned down?
Where’s SG in ATL?
the red sox 2b is terrible
Austin Wells owns your poverty ace!
Did Crochet look full townie when he was in Chicago?
He dropped a stitch.
Judge shoulda stood home.
I hate when Judge is clearly pressing.
God dammit Jason is terrible as a righty.
dj!!!
Martian can not hit right handed. They need to think about skipping switch hitting next year.
Nice slide. Nice hit.
Yeah, that was impressive.
Using Volpe to pinch run means you can’t pinch hit Grisham for Peraza. Not a fan of that move.
DJ being even slightly useful would really help this lineup a lot. Even as the #9 hitter.
It’s weird how long it’s been since Hamilton has pitched.
And now we know why.
I guess you still use Grisham and just have Escarra play third base if they tie the game, right?
Martian as a RHB 143/506 99 PAs. Cashman we’ve got a problem. Boone you’ve got to consider playing him a lot less against tough LHPs.
He never should have started tonight.
Nope.
Walking the leadoff man, there’s a plan I haven’t seen before…
I know you’re probably rusty, Hamilton, but this is pathetic.
All of that clawing back just to bring in a rusty Hamilton once the game was close. Boone just really irritates the shit out of me.
Hamilton is gassed. He needs to be back of the bullpen. He done being a high leverage guy.
That’s the thing, he WAS already in the back of the bullpen, and Boone STILL used him in a one-run game!
I just don’t get it at all. You didn’t use Hamilton for a fucking WEEK, but you use him in a one-run game?! Why not Hill?
Walk, Single, Single, bases loaded, no out – Just stick with him, right? It’ll all work out. It’s not like Tim Hill is really good with the bases loaded or anything.
Another Boonerism.
We all get what he was thinking. He had Hamilton warming when it was 8-5, so he “had” to stick with him. But that’s FUCKING STUPID, BOONE!!
A different turn of events means that you can make a different decision!
Hamilton got ahead of the other Hamilton 1-2, time for three insanely bad pitches!
I’ll take the GIDP. After the game was already lost, of course, but hey, it’s something.
Yankees going down 1-2-3 makes the Hamilton inning a BIT less painful.
Good Night And Good Luck. Was better than this game.
Aaron Boone: Yarbrough not the sharpest tonight.
Do you worry at all about Dominguez confidence against lefties? ” Not at all. Especially lately. It’s an experience thing.”
