  1. Is it possible that there’s something other than chance behind Rice hitting the ball so hard but making so many outs? Swing angle or something?

  2. The ESPN crew will be interminably fellating the townies prospects. Remember one spring when they had JBJ in the HOF before his first game?

    1. I’m watching the NESN broadcast. They’re not going easy on the local nine.

    1. Up 7 it’s easy to be cautious. It’s not like when they let Jazz hit after he felt a twinge.

  3. What other Yankees announcer might have caught the ump thinking strike three was strike two?

Also, why is this game so boring that the ump loses track of the strikes, Kay doesn’t know the outs…

  4. “Oh no, if I give him a pitch to hit, it’ll be 8-4! I better walk him! Oh no, if I give HIM a pitch to hit, it’ll be 8-5! I better just walk the bases loaded so the next guy can make it 8-6!”

The thought processes of these morons always baffle me.

  5. The best outcome is we merely burn the pen. The worst is the worst. Will Warren has a 5.34 era. Yeah he looks good at times, at times. I have no faith.

  6. He telegraphed what he was doing. You don’t always have to be a superstar. When you steal 3rd you should be in easily. I didn’t like that even if he was safe.

    1. Well, at least we can all be utterly calm and confident that it will be closed out easily and quickly in the top of the ninth!

    1. Stellar through five, and then insanely horrendous in the sixth inning is still bad.

But sure, I do agree that it was better than being insanely horrendous in the first inning.

    2. He was terrible last year in the majors and minors. At Scranton he had a lot of games like his last here.

    1. Jazz used to swing like Cannonball Adderley, and now Jazz swings like Stan Getz.

  7. Winans with another 5 2/3 scoreless innings. He’s 5-0 with a 0.23 era in 39 ip with 35 Ks and a 1 WHIP. He’s 29 and a failed major leaguer.

    Beeter 1ip 0r 1h 1k

    1. I just don’t see Winans being anything but a back of the rotation starter, and the Yankees don’t need that. Beeter, though, could be useful, in place of Yerry.
