It’ll be fascinating to see if Yarbrough can continue to pitch well as a starter.
Boy do I hate the Angels’ ballpark.
“Hate” is such a strong word for something with neither a fixed roof nor a Back Bay zip code. Although that fiberglass rock pile is probably baseball’s most severe non sequitir.
Neto turns into Babe Ruth against the Yankees.
Kay won’t go to Colorado but he will go to LA.
Can’t turn down the Dodgers series, and if you’re doing THAT series, you gotta do this one, right?
I would’ve never thrown phenom a strike there.
BIZARRE choice, right?
Neto’s Ultimate Warrior cosplay needs more neon fringe.
Stanton needs to play 6 times a week?
IDK how else you get him on the IL for his mid-July stint.
Wait, this fucking dude can go SIX now?!
This isn’t the Colorado lineup but it’s also not 1998 Indians.
Halos are 18th in OPS and 26th in BA.
Yarborough pitched in 12 games for Toronto last year with a WHIP of 0.798 and Toronto just cut him. He was OK for the Dodgers also.
That was what I was saying when they got him! What the fuck was Toronto thinking?!
That’s a lot of runs to average with 2 automatic outs in the lineup
Yarbrough v. Yamamoto. Y? 😎
Don’t love Babe Neto up here.
Jo Adell sucks, he’s the Masyn Winn of Matt Wieters.
MLBTR had an item, ripped from Hoch I think, that the Yankees are looking for 3B and starting pitching. Why the fuck would they want starters
2B/3b is their greatest need.
It’s from Nightengale, and I really think it’s pretty much made up shit. There’s no way they’re “aggressively” looking to acquire another starter. No way.
Great work by Leiter.
I wonder if Yarbrough is just a colossal shit. Even so you don’t usually see good players cut for that reason. AJ pierzyzyzyzz stuck around for years because he could play
I don’t get this move. Why send Weaver right back out there in a non-save situation?
Over managing
Well, Weaver won’t be available Tuesday, even if he doesn’t blow this one.
Right? It’s baffling.
The only thing I can POSSIBLY imagine is that Weaver himself was feeling weird about the Rockies outing and actively WANTED to get back out there to get things settled.
Whew! Yay, win.
Three Dodger games are on Apple, Fox and ESPN. Cool.
lol I can actually watch those though
“The only thing I can POSSIBLY imagine is that Weaver himself was feeling weird about the Rockies outing and actively WANTED to get back out there to get things settled.”
Exactly what I was thinking. I bet he ASKED to pitch tonight.
Yarby getting better each game. Last 4 games:
4 innings 1 run
5 innings 2 runs
5 inning 1 run
6 innings 1 run.
Great pickup by cashman. Gotta give credit where it’s due. Looks like he had a pretty good offseason. Except for the part where he forgot to get a 3b.
Really can’t say I was expecting the Yanks to have a +111 run dif, far and away the best in baseball at this point.
Rodon has been a big part of that. Both top 20 among qualified starters in xFIP- and SIERA. Only Atlanta and Philly has more than 1 in the top 20 (Phils have *3*).
But man I have a hard time believing Rodon is going to keep it up. His K-BB% is even better than Fried’s but he’s faced a lot of middling-to-bad offenses this year.
He was very good the 2 years before coming here.
