Everything is terrible, but at least Ben Rice is back!
Good to have you back Ben.
I think I’d switch Rice and Goldy.
Rice is the better on base guy. Really, what they need desperately is someone who can push Belli back in the lineup. Wells was hopefully going to be that guy. He sure hasn’t been so far.
That wasn’t even a Gleyber-esque screwup. That was just all Jazz. It was a bizarre error.
How do you not get Naylor there?!
How the heck is Escarra not even good at throwing out runners?!
Hate this long rally based on a fucking crazy error by Jazz.
Good job getting out of it, but that was still a lot of extra pitches Warren shouldn’t have had to get.
DJ 2-2 with a home run and three RBI, and the game is still going.
I guess we didn’t have to worry about Rice’s health
I’m so pleased.
Aaron Judge, singles king.
Bellinger’s always had good numbers against Cleveland. Good to know Mike.
Which is weird, too, since how often could he have POSSIBLY played Cleveland?
I’m stunned by just HOW good Volpe has been defensively since he got here. I had no idea that he’d be this good.
Goldschmidt doesn’t panic with two strikes. I’d love to see a batter who panics with two strikes.
Nearly two months after Stanton was initially placed on the injured list with torn tendons in both elbows, the 35-year-old slugger took onfield batting practice at Progressive, marking the first onfield work he has done since he was placed on the IL.
“I don’t usually hit on the field, so I’ve been hitting inside,” Stanton said on the field after batting practice. “So I wanted to pop out here and get a feel for what my work is inside and build that way.”
Stanton said that he “feels good” and that his elbows are “getting better,” but he wasn’t sure when he’d head out on a rehab assignment.

What an awful DP by Volpe.
Volpe hitting into a DP, ugh. He’s so bad a hitter.
It was soooo bad.
Jazz got lucky on that pitch.
Then Jasson K’s on 4-pitches.
phenom should always bunt with men on
The Guardians had the right idea. They thought he would.
Derek Dietrich, the Yankees “culture and accountability coordinator.”
Oooookay.
I got the “Name That Yankee” right. VERY tough one.
Yankees making another strugglng pitcher well again.
That would have been a great play had Dominguez made it, but it still irks me how he takes awful routes out there.
The Martian is not a good left fielder.
His baseball IQ leaves much to be desired.
What a play by Judge!
Judge is batting .400 again!
Holy shit, Belli, that was pathetic.
That would be a nice hit by Goldy if it weren’t for the fact that Jazz is striking out here 99.999%.
Wow, Jazz surprised me with the sac fly!
Ooph, that Nolan Jones groundball was ALMOST a double play, and instead it was a hit.
Oh great, Leiter against Jose Ramirez. Awesome.
What an INSANELY bad play by Escarra. How do you allow a TWO-BASE wild pitch!?
DJ 3/3 with a home run and a double.
He’ll be hurt soon enough.
Just some shoddy ass play in this inning. Judge had no chance at that shit, and turned a single into a double.
FFS.
Escara not good behind the plate but he can’t hit 143/518. Maybe letting Trevi go wasn’t so smart.
I mean, good for Kwan, of course, but holy shit, Escarra.
Of course, the next batter singled, so it really didn’t matter.
And they had Escarra as a top defensive catcher.
That was a strike
Jesus fucking christ, this inning.
This inning is just insane.
phenom!
Leiter wasn’t even really that bad in the inning, but it was all just clown shoes.
That was just bad luck
One run, too much to overcome for this line up (Judge, 1 HR in the last 18 days).
Pablo Reyes, pinch-hitter, is hilarious.
Cash has always been a believer in a strong bench.
Career RHB Martian 20Ks/53ABs hitting under 100
It’s important to get someone on in front of Belly
This ump is random on high strikes
It’s BIZARRE.
He’s just going to blow three fastballs by Volpe.
Belly 173, Jazz 159, Volpe 209, Jasson 212*, JC 143, Wells 182. Do you like it?
Lucky Jazz
Yep. Why the fuck is Volpe batting in the middle of the fucking lineup?!
Why is Belli hitting 3 or Jazz 5?
Belli at least has a history of success. Volpe hasn’t ever been good.
Only the Yankees “brain trust” hasn’t seen enough of Volpe. Oh, and opposing pitchers love them some Volpe.
Gaddis barely even celebrated, since he knew he was obviously going to get Volpe out.
phenom!!
Here’s what I truly don’t understand. They’re going to have to let Rice catch if they want him to get at-bats when Stanton is back, right? So why not, when Grisham returns, don’t they try to get him catching opportunities NOW?
Why are they putting off him catching until they absolutely HAVE to? Shouldn’t they find out now if he can actually DO it? Then they can DH Judge and have Grisham play center.
Hometown scoring changed the Volpe error to a hit, fucking Leiter over. We’ve seen some VERY sketchy scoring lately.
Waldo batted sixth as a ROOKIE, but now he is stuck at 9th while Volpe just fucking sucks in the #6 spot. Why not flip them?
It’s hilarious that Cleveland has benched their All-Star closer, but the Yankees can’t do that.
I can’t even blame them for not scoring on the excellent Cleveland bullpen. They should have done better against Bibee.
They wasted little time making outs in the 9th. Impressive!
Cade Smith against the bottom of the lineup isn’t even fair.
Three pitch save??!!
Six hits, Judge had four of them. The rest of this crappy line up had two.
As frustrating as the loss was, you have to be thrilled at Warren’s performance.
True, other than Judge and Rice the only bright spot.
Isn’t The Last Of Us basically The Walking Dead, except the survivors have a nicer compound?
Volpe is never going to hit. He’s like a 1960s shortstop – Ed Brinkman, Gene Michael, buddy Harrelson.,,might have been ok back then but now? Ugh.
Bellinger? He should lose his job to Grisham until proven otherwise.
To be fair Volpe has more pop.
Brendan Beck 26 year old AA pitcher, Yankee 2nd round pick 2021, in his first pro season at AA 3 starts 15ip 0r 5h 13K
Kirschner Very, very, very early but Yankees are 6-8 against teams over .500. That includes winning 3 against a banged up Brewers pitching staff
Yes very very early.
However their line up indicates they’re going nowhere.
Bell8nger and Jazz can’t be this bad. Can they?
phenom:

He’s learned nothing, he is one arrogant person. But when the Yankees decided his 170 BA in 2023 didn’t justify sending him down, they only added to his arrogance.
Just gotta stick to the plan.
Katie S Luke Weaver This Season:

Weaver is the 1st pitcher in Yankees history to face that many batters, allow that few baserunners and no runs thru their first 10 games of a season.
Jazz Chisholm This Season
